Description
The latest automobiles from manufacturers around the world, two test tracks, and everything automobile enthusiasts love — combined with a new awards program for local dealers and an automotive competition — are all part of the excitement of the Central Florida International Auto Show, happening Thursday, Nov. 14, through Sunday, November 17, at the Orange County Convention Center.
The Auto Show will display models from a variety of manufacturers and displayed by local automobile dealers. There’s an exotic car section, an indoor track for electric vehicles, and an outdoor test-drive route. Visitors can even see Mario Andretti’s Formula One race car and view some of the vehicles from the Mopar Mob – hobby cars created for nonprofit and charity events.
Kids can take tot-sized electric cars for a test drive and enter to win one of the ride-on toy cars, just in time for the holidays.
On opening day, Thursday, November 14, automotive technicians from Central Florida high schools will vie for $10,000 in scholarship money as they test their skills to identify and fix mechanical issues during the Student Competition.
On Saturday, it’s Ladies Day, with a brunch from 10 a.m. to noon, including visiting the auto show’s many offerings. And Orlando Magic player Caleb Houstan will be signing autographs from 3-4 p.m. The NBA forward was a second-round pick for the Magic and has played 110 games, all for the Orlando team.
And the Auto Show will honor dealerships focused on diversity during its awards program, the first that focus on attracting diverse clientele to their dealerships. The top three dealerships will be recognized during the ceremony.
