When the estranged Lafayette siblings return to their late father’s crumbling Arkansas home to settle his estate, long-buried tensions quickly resurface. What begins as a simple effort to sort through old belongings turns into a volatile confrontation about family secrets, identity, and the troubling truths hidden in their past. As the siblings argue over what should be kept, sold, or forgotten, they are forced to face uncomfortable questions about who they are—and what they are willing to acknowledge. Blending sharp humor with emotional intensity, Appropriate is a riveting and thought-provoking theatrical experience. Bold, timely, and deeply human, this acclaimed play challenges audiences to consider how the past shapes the present—and what it truly means to confront the truth.
